I'm Having Trouble Breathing, What Do I Do?
Shortness of breath can cause extreme discomfort and may feel like you can’t draw a complete breath. It comes on suddenly and often without an immediate known cause. Mild breathlessness that you experience after vigorous physical exertion is not the same as shortness of breath. Breathing issues may be related to a variety of serious conditions requiring medical attention. If you or a loved one is having trouble breathing, call 911 right away. Loosen any tight clothing which may be restricting breathing. If you or your loved one has been prescribed an inhaler or home oxygen, administer prescribed medication immediately. Continue to monitor breathing until medical help arrives.
